Elo
A rating system that measures a player's skill in competitive games. The higher the elo, the tougher the matchmaking.
Ranked
Competitive mode where players climb or drop tiers based on wins and losses.
Elo Boost
A service where a stronger player logs into someone else's account to raise its rank. Common in League of Legends, Valorant and Wild Rift.
Farm
Repeatedly killing minions, monsters or enemies to build up gold, XP or items.
Roster
The set of characters or heroes an account owns in gacha games such as Watcher of Realms, Raid Shadow Legends and Genshin Impact.
Gacha
A system where players spend in-game currency for randomised characters or items, named after Japanese capsule-toy machines.

Nerf
A patch that reduces the power of a character, item or ability.
Buff

Battle Pass
A seasonal reward track earned through progression. Accounts with completed passes are worth more.
F2P (Free-to-Play)
A player who never spent real money on the game. Advanced F2P accounts are prized because they represent pure playtime.
P2W (Pay-to-Win)
Games or accounts where spending real money grants a real competitive edge.
Whale
A player who spends heavily in gacha games. Whale accounts carry near-complete rosters.
AFK
'Away From Keyboard' — an absent player. In Watcher of Realms and AFK Arena it also refers to idle progression.
Reroll
Creating fresh accounts over and over until you land rare characters in the opening pulls.
Ascend / Ascension
A progression system that raises a character's level cap or rarity.
SSR / SR / R
Gacha rarity tiers. SSR (Super Super Rare) is the highest and the most sought after.
Account Binding
How an account is linked to an email, phone or platform ID. Unbound or fully transferable accounts are the safest to buy.
